Kohlman Chutes

Overview
Kohlman Chutes is Chicagoland’s largest chute supply and service company, providing services for many high rises and a wide variety of businesses. They pride themselves in providing cheap parts and speedy installations and repairs. Most of the business transactions are via telephone, where a customer would call in for a specific chute part or set a maintenance appointment. Credit Cards for services and sales were also done over the phone.

E-commerce Presence
In order to alleviate the number of sales via telephone, Kohlman Chutes wanted to create an online e-commerce store, providing a way for repeat and new customers to easily browse and purchase chute items without the hassle of calling in an order. Using the hosted e-commerce application Shopify, a very customizable and easily maintained e-commerce store was created. Ease of use was a big priority as the company had little technical background. Automated reports of sales were sent to a created e-mail account alerting Kohlman Chutes of a new order. A verification e-mail was sent to the customer, along with the ability to send a shipping notice and tracking number.
